Cadmus Technology 

Cadmus Technology is New Zealand's leading manufacturer and supplier of EFTPOS terminals, loyalty terminals and other customised hardware products to merchants and major third-party organisations such as banks.

To further develop market opportunities beyond their existing product range, Cadmus required a new multi-purpose magnetic card reading terminal.

The new terminal needed to be able to be used in a variety of applications that included phone prepay top-ups, utility payments and CRM loyalty programmes.

The terminal had to be able to be supplied in multiple configurations but, with economic issues always a consideration, cost of manufacture had to be kept to a minimum.

Based on a thorough understanding of the requirements for the product and proven design control and management techniques, the design solution developed by the Adept team - in conjunction with our Cadmus' in-house electronic design team - was quite unique.

The design incorporates four different units based on a single design platform, with the terminal able to be supplied in colour/mono touch-screen or keypad configurations with the option to include a printer.

The terminal also fully integrates with Cadmus' other secure pinpad products.

Due to the modular configuration, based on standard components, significant manufacturing cost savings were also realised.

Cadmus has received very positive market feedback upon introduction of this product, which has resulted in immediate orders from both domestic and offshore clients.
