At the time of its rebranding to Holcim, Milburn was one of New Zealand's most enduring and respected brand names.
A sensitive brand strategy and implementation programme was called for to ensure an understanding by all internal and external stakeholders of the rationale for the transition to the new brand.
To rebrand Milburn (NZ) Ltd, a cement company operating in New Zealand for over 100 years, to the brand of its Swiss parent company, Holcim.
A humanised cement company. BRR's involvement spanned strategy, design of promotional collateral, media communication, design implementation, packaging and event management " through to an internal culture change programme.
Given Milburn's proud New Zealand heritage in the minds of staff and customers, particular care was taken to pay tribute to the past as well as to highlight the advantages which the Holcim brand offered for the next stage of the company's development.
Storytelling, reflecting Holcim's values through the eyes of the company's stakeholders, was an important tool.
As a consequence, the internal culture of the organisation has adapted well to its new brand and Holcim (New Zealand) Ltd is prospering.
