Kauri Module - Waitakere City Council Sculpture

The Kauri Modules are a set of modularly built light sculptures. The sculptures are an abstract representation of the fallen flakes of bark of the The Kauri. As the modules build with one another, sections of a cylinder are formed. In its ultimate configuration a life size representation of New Zealands most prestigious and massive tree may be created as an epitaph to the mighty Kauri forests that once populated The Waitakere.
