Case study overview

Logo and identity design

The brief was to design a graphic identity for a gardening and planting design company specialising in organic, sustainable and eco-friendly gardening and permaculture techniques. The company is based in central Auckland, so the target market was very much urban professionals and young families.

The solution was a fresh, modern logomark featuring a customised logotype based on Avant Garde, simultaneously sophisticated yet approachable and friendly. The logo was combined with the earthiness of Clarendon to create an identity that visually overcomes the apparent dichotomy of urban organic gardening within a cohesive visual identity.

The identity was applied to business cards and promotional postcards, printed on recycled paper, and was extended across information sheets helping customers to adapt to sustainable gardening methods and clothing for the staff of the company.
