Marlborough has a superb range of natural and manmade assets, and no shortage of parties eager to promote it.
However, it lacked a cohesive vision of itself - a suitable banner under which these many and varied groups could tell a consistent story of their region to prospective visitors, relocating businesses, and themselves.
To research and develop a regional identity for Marlborough and encourage collaboration across a wide sector of interests.
The 'Love Marlborough' brand identity was designed to enable many sector interests to work together in the promotion of the region's unique attributes and activities.
Each sector would use the brand to tell their individual stories of interest aimed at a range of different markets.
The brand identity has successfully straddled numerous business and community sectors and achieved widespread ownership and drawing power.
In a transient world, the 'Love Marlborough' brand positioning has proved to be highly durable and continues to gain traction.
