Case study overview

OBO website and game

OBO are well-known in the NZ design community as one of the most innovative and exciting product design companies around (to find out more about them, check out the Case Studies section of this site).

We were approached to produce a website that would reflect the mighty brand development they had just undergone, but more importantly, to nuture communication and product feedback from their loyal legion of goal keepers.

Great care was taken by everyone to ensure the deepest understanding of the inner workings of the mythical beast that is the Field Hockey Goal Keeper. This included a trip to our Nation's other capital (Palmy) to tour the OBO Good Shit factory, and numerous discussions on how to provide these demi-gods of astro turf with an experience that was at once fun, informative, interactive and memorable.

The result is a bit of a whopper - an immersive and innvoative Flash product site, wrapped up with a forum, photo and video sharing community and an in-site goal-keeping game! Early reaction to the site has been a steady stream of positive feedback from the keepers, with a quick follow-up Stage 2 build already planned which will place OBO among the top sports websites in the world.
