Case study overview
Scarborough Fair
It was our task to design the packaging to launch the Scarborough Fair range of Fairtrade certified products in New Zealand and Australia.
It's Scarborough Fair's goal to bring Fairtrade certified products to the mainstream market, offering a quality alternative to the pantry staples currently on the shelf.
Therefore it was our task to create premium packaging that encourages purchase as it shares the Fair Trade message with flair and style
To create a pure, natural appeal for the Scarborough Fair range, our packaging balances evocative imagery of each product's country of origin with a simple, approachable Fair Trade message.
We want to visually tell the story of these romantic, faraway places without focusing on the negativity of sweat shops that most Fair Trade advertising emphasises.
Therefore, we present each image in a beautiful, destinational fashion and focus on a single silhouetted person who's going about their everyday life to highlight that Fair Trade is a simple concept that's easy to support by purchasing Scarborough Fair products.
Finally, household shoppers can easily purchase a quality Fairtrade certified alternative to the pantry staples currently on the shelf.
Scarborough Fair has launched with Foodtown, Woolworths, Countdown and New World in New Zealand and Coles Myer and Woolworths in Australia, putting the brand in 1500 supermarkets across Australasia.
