Vibe Sky Television Channel Identity
SKY Television (SKY), is New Zealand's pre-eminent pay TV operator, offering a wide range of sports, movies, music, on-demand and general content across more than 100+ channels. SKY had two generic channels, SKY 1 and SKY 2, screening a mix of programmes.
Interbrand was approached to assist in the repositioning of the two channels to enable more accurate targeting of viewers.
Interbrand ran a workshop with SKY TV. As an outcome the two channels were divided into male and female. We were then challenged with creating a unique, distinctly female SKY channel identity that was meaningful and intriguing to females. This new channel needed to be bigger than just a channel identity and be able to captivate and engage customers off screen.
Interbrand named the channel 'Vibe', a name that is sexy and fun, with an overtly female feel. It is snappy, memorable and unique in TV Channel environments. Interbrand then created a welcoming, inspirational environment that was fresh, indulgent and intelligent based on our defined values -individuality, intimacy and a little naughtiness.
This project spans both the brand identity (name and visual execution), channel ID animation treatments and music track composition to accompany the graphics.
