Case study overview
Web Development
Known as the technical experts for eZ Publish throughout Asia-Pacific Quiqcorp were contracted to build and lead the development of a highly technical project for the Wall Street Journal Asia. Not only did the Japanese WSJ require integrations into six external services it also required us to liaise with more than 100 internal staff and meet with the key personnel and to build the hosting architecture across 4 countries.
For this project Quiqcorp created a number of custom developments that include: a wirecenter to aggregate global news feeds into an easy to manage editorial workflow along with delivering single sign-on and subscription paywalls for content. The wirecenter allows for thousands of articles from a number of resources to flow into a holding area, waiting for a senior editor to assign the content to be translated; we developed a solution that enabled side-by-side translations, and as the content is stored as objects - images and other associated media to the articles could be dealt with separately and changed to suit the requirements of the region which it was being displayed. Custom extensions for market data allow the site to show up to the minute live market rates from global stock exchanges. Quiqcorp also designed and implemented the hosting infrastructure necessary to handle the growing traffic for this site.
